The Yoga Therapy Workshops for health professionals are given by Evi Dimitriadou, a C-IAYT certified Yoga Therapist, founder of Yoga Therapy Greece, (one of the 3 schools in Europe that offers IAYT Accredited Yoga Therapy Programs of 800 hours by the International Association of Yoga Therapists IAYT) and a Physiotherapy graduate from Manchester Metropolitan University.
In the first seminar for health professionals, we share what yoga is, what yoga therapy is, the biopsychosocial model of yoga that makes it holistic, the most important Yoga tools such as breath awareness, slow breathing, breathing practices, guided relaxation and repetition of positive statements. We also share evidence-based practices and the ways that yoga or yoga tools can be directly integrated by most health professionals or in collaboration with C-IAYT certified Yoga Therapists, as part of a multidisciplinary or interdisciplinary teams.
In the second seminar, through a live yoga therapy session you better understand what yoga therapy is. Through practicing yoga for chronic low back pain and anxiety, you experience how yoga is evaluated in research trials, and through the latest research articles presented we share the health issues where yoga has been effective and the ways that it can be proposed or integrated as an effective holistic mind & body practice.
I feel very grateful for the sharing of all this valuable information which has direct application to my teaching and my personal practice. I felt well looked after regarding all the aspects of organising, accommodation, decent vegetarian food and off course the training itself. Thanks for everything
